Biography of Abu Hasan Muhammed Jahangir
Abu Hasan Muhammed Jahangir is an experienced entrepreneur and global trade expert with over 30 years of managing businesses in trading, manufacturing, and community development. He has a strong background in leadership, policy-making, and financial planning. After earning his MBA from the University of Dhaka in 1993, Abu started his career in Bangladesh, where he built and operated businesses ranging from startups to large organizations. In late 2018, he moved to Canada and used his experience to start several successful businesses while also contributing to community and volunteer work.
In Canada, Abu founded Pacific Fraser Bay Sourcing Inc. (PFBSI) in 2019, a company that helps Canadian apparel brands and retailers with ethical and efficient product sourcing. PFBSI also owns the Canadian fashion brand BLAZE. In 2022, he established Agrohope Farms & Products Inc., which develops a seafood supply network in Port Alberni, supports local farms, and sells products online and in a physical store on 4th Avenue. He also created Pacific Fraser Agro Products Inc., focusing on commodity trading, and Has Muh Vehicle Services Corporation, offering vehicle maintenance services.
In Bangladesh, Abu remains involved as Chairman or Director of several manufacturing companies, including Jahangir Taz Textile Ltd, Sattar Textile Mills Ltd, Tex-Drive Ltd, and One Spinning Mills Ltd. These businesses contribute significantly to industrial growth and job creation in the region.
In addition to his business ventures, Abu is actively engaged in community service. He is a Board Director and Co-Chair of the Vocational Service Committee for the Rotary Club of Richmond and a Board Member for Richmond Multicultural Community Services, where he promotes cultural inclusion. He also serves on the boards of the Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, where he is part of the Policy Advisory Committee. Abu is a member of the Food Security and Agricultural Advisory Committee in Richmond and a Board Member of the Alberni Valley Restorative Justice Society, working to repair harm within the community.
Abu also mentors veterans and their families through American Corporate Partners (ACP) and supports various organizations, including Health Authorities, BCALM, and the Royal Canadian Legion. His expertise includes leadership, problem-solving, financial planning, community building, and global trade. Abu is dedicated to using his skills to grow his businesses and make a positive impact in the community.
